| The village which gives
its name to the lake, in ancient times called Benaco,
is one of the major tourist centres of the Olive Riviera.
In a magnificient bay dominated by La Rocca, once used
as fortress. The historic centre of the medieval village
with its multicoloured houses and narrow alleys maintains
all its charm. To the north villas and olive groves
lead to the point of San Vigilio and the bay of Sirens,
one of the most beautiful spots on the lake.
