Arco is located on the north side of Lake Garda, in the region of Trento. The town is surrounded on one side by the lake and on the other side by the mountains.

Thanks to the mediterranean climate of the lake and the lakeside position of the town, Arco is a popular seaside and health resort.
The Archduke Albert of Habsburg settled here in Arco his winter residence (Villa Arciducale), surrounded by a luxurious park (the Arboretum) in which many exotic and mediterranean plants are hosted. The Habsburgs enriched the town with parks and gardens, charming liberty villas and other beautiful building. The Castle, one of the most beautiful medieval fortresses in the Alps, was built in Arco by the Counts of the town and offers to the tourists a breathtaking sight on Lake Garda.
